First game jam of the year!
For my first game jam this year (Juice Jam) I decided to develop a clicker game. I've always had a fascination with minimalism and wondered how I could make this simple game genre interesting. Since this was a Juice Jam, I went with the game itself also being incremental, as well as having a game dev theme to fit the "Paying the Price" jam theme. All the roles (buildings) are game dev themed as you hire each new role, the game will change and grow, adding more 'juice'!
Unfortunately, I had some scriptable object issues (and a few bugs) with the little clicker framework I used (uClicker by Philip Cass) and was unable to get any particle system VFX to display in front of the UI layer - a design issue I just didn't plan for, so ran out of time and wasn't able to add the features that would have been added by the Technical Artist role and higher. Lots of interesting learning, as with every game jam I do.
Hope you enjoy Idle Game Developer!
